Houseplants to Naturally Filter Your Air1.) Aloe – With it’s amazing sunburn soothing abilities, aloe is one great plant to have around. Aloe thrives in sunlight and assists in removing formaldehyde and benzene from the air.
.) Bamboo Palm – This plant filters formaldehyde, benzene, and trichloroethylene. With good care, this plant can reach 4-12 feet tall, making for an awesome powerhouse filter.
.) Spider Plant – Lacking a green thumb? This is the plant for you! As fans of indirect sunlight, these beauties are easy to care for and filter formaldehyde and xylene.
.) Peace Lily – Ammonia, benzene, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene are some of the pollutants filtered by the Peace Lily. Although this is a flower that produces pollen and floral scents into the air, having a minimum number around can reduce the risk of allergens while also cleaning the air.
.) Rubber Plant – This plant is great at filtering carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene from the air in your home. As a low maintenance plant, the rubber plant only needs bright, indirect sunlight. Be careful with this one, the plant leaves can be toxic.
